Small Groups
Small Groups at First Lutheran Church help people to connect with others, to build and grow relationships, and to aid in faith development. If there is a group here that you would like to participate in, please be sure and get in touch with the contact person. If you have an interest in forming a new group, or would like to lead a small group; please contact

Accidental Book Group
For women of all ages, the book group meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. following the Women’s Breakfast Bible Study. This group discusses books of all types and genres. Contact Sylvia with questions and for more information.
Writer’s Group
This is a group of people who meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings to explore the experience of living as Christian people of faith through writing in its various forms. Members of this group wrote devotional pieces that were used during Lent in 2009. For more information, please contact Karen.
Spirituality Group
This group also meets twice a month on Wednesday evenings to experience God as Christian people of faith through various spiritual disciplines including music, poetry, prayer, reflection, meditation, sharing, journaling, ritual and Scripture. This group is facilitated by a trained Spiritual Director. Please contact Karen with questions or for information.
Boomers
A social group that usually meets on a Saturday evening at a member’s home for food, fun, and fellowship. Contact Janine for more details.
Mayberry Group
Meets at different times throughout the year for study, social activities, and service opportunities. Contact Kathleen with questions.
Quilting Group
This group meets on Monday afternoons from noon until 3:00 p.m. in the downstairs quilting room. They assemble quilts and blankets for Lutheran World Relief and the American Red Cross. Contact Char for more information.
Scott’s Men’s Group
A group of men get together for breakfast one or two times per month at 7:00 a.m. at Steak and Egger restaurant on Holton Road. For more information, contact Scott.
S.H.O.P Group (Seniors Helping Our Parish)
This is a group of senior citizens that enjoy helping our parish and getting to know others as well. They meet every Tuesday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Gallery for coffee, conversation, and to perform small maintenance projects around the church and the parsonage. Volleyball
A group of people that love to play volleyball meet in the Family Life Center each Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. Contact George for more information.
Lunch Bunch
The Lunch Bunch is a group of senior citizens that get together at the church for lunch and a program every month on the second Tuesday. The group meets from 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. and has a meal provided by our caterers, Dave and Cindy Short. Contact Ed Wosinski for more information.
Young Adults Group
This is a group that is open to anyone who is in college through age 35. This group meets once a month for a social activity and participates in other church events together. For more information, please contact Dawn Shank, our Church Secretary; or Ken Ranos, our Intern Pastor.
